Its been a few weeks since I posted one of these so I thought that it might be time for another thread where I will do my best to answer whatever skincare/personal care product questions you might have.

As always, I work as a cosmetic chemist so my wheelhouse is products rather than supplements or treatments but other than that, ask away.

I’m following this skin routin, can be good?
I use CeraVe for cleanser and mosturize, retin a only 3 times a week not everyday

Have used CeraVe moisturizer and Sheabutter natural shampoo for moisturizing hair and I have definitely seen difference

I do it religiously now lol (because I saw difference in short time)

Lol the astrosky routine

I don't like this routine.
I've tried for quite a while to figure out why you'd use Infadolan as well as Retin A but I still haven't got there.
Why wouldn't you cleanse and moisturise on a Saturday?
Are you not meant to leave the house on a Friday? Or are Fridays just the day that we don't care about UV damage?
In the video that this is taken from, he also talks about not using retinoids during the day but then goes on to use Infadolan?
So many questions.

If it works for you, go ahead. I just can't make sense of it quite honestly.

Why the fuck would you want to look 17? If you're already 23 looking 23, you're not going to get back to looking 17. Prevention of further ageing (as much as possible) is really the only option. In terms of skincare: SPF, retinoids, hydration, minimising hyperpigmentation.

Im 19, look like 17. Is it possible to prevent aging and look like 20 at mid/late 20s?

How long have you been using Retin A? And what is it that are your main issues?
This is a post i made a week ago so u can see some pics of my skin:

I use retin a since 45-50 days 3 times a week cause it gave me some irritation. I use this:
8879B874 8C0F 46B0 B28F E5E27F6579CA

it’s the liquid version cause it was the only way to get it without prescription in my stupid country
I also dermarolling once a week with derminator 2 for skin and hairline

Prevent totally? No. Can you do stuff to help in terms of skincare? Yes. Be consistent with SPF, hydration and moisturisation, use a retinoid and make sure you're cleansing properly.

If you can only use it 3 times a week then thats fine. A consistent lower level is better than nothing at all because you've gone too hard.
Are you exfoliating at all? Especially around where you're getting the ingrown hairs.
If you're still dry, possibly consider either backing off the tretinoin slightly or changing up the moisturiser and/or cleanser that you're using.

Where is my foreskin doc?

I am totally layman on the subject.
How to remove dark circles? How to lighten the skin? How to leave the skin hydrated?

I use moisturizer every day, I'm not eating candy, drink a lot of water, and apply ice in the dark circles area.
Any tips?

Depending upon the type of dark circle, there's not a ton that can be done for them topically other than makeup.
Skin lightening I'm not going to touch with a 40 foot barge pole. Like I said in the guide, dealing with hyperpigmentation is one thing, lightening the skin tone as a whole is a whole 'nother (often dangerous) ball game.
Skin hydration: humectants are the way forward on this one. Look out for hyaluronic acid, glycerin, urea, propylene glycol or AHAs like lactic acid.

Anyway thanks a lot bro, if u need advice on surgery u can pm me

I prefer chemical exfoliation, if you're already using a washcloth when you're cleansing that should be enough manual exfoliation. There are some product recommendations in the guide I wrote.

What products do you recommend for the body?
I'm going to need you to narrow that down slightly. Shower products? Moisturisers? Exfoliants?

Just in general, got some light backne.
I am following your guide and was wondering if i can use the same products for the body or other products are needed. I really enjoy the products i bought for the face.

You absolutely can use the same products, yes. Glad that the products are working for you.
Side note, if you use conditioner, make sure its getting fully washed off your back after you've washed your hair. A common cause on back acne can be conditioner from the hair thats not been washed off properly.

Hyaluronic acid is the humectant that seems to be in fashion currently, but personally I feel like glycerin doesn't get the credit that it deserves. Theres a fair few products listed in the guide that I wrote if you wanted to take a look at those. If you need any other recommendations though, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
And it doesn't sound stupid at all, honey is a great humectant.

Personally, I dont like it. Theres better ingredients out there for almost everything that coconut oil is used for. If it works for you though, go for it.

I need a skin lightening routine. I don't have access to kojic acid soap or hydroquinone

What's the logic behind those ice rollers?

so with dermatological procedures I cant reverse time?

pretty important question for the community: minox for beard - do or not?

Is it possible to suddenly develop an allergy to moisturizer? Certain spots on my skin become red after minutes of putting it on and they start burning and a tiny blister develops. If I wash those spots with cold water for a minute or two, everything goes away. I've been using moisturizers for more than half a year.

Also, does sleeping on the side worsen your nasolabial folds and skin or is it a myth?

Another question, is SPF important if I don't go out in the sun because I rot indoors 24/7?

This isn't an important question and it's been addressed a million times.

No.

Mostly to improve lymphatic drainage and reduce puffiness. Imo they feel good but they're nothing groundbreaking, other people I know swear by them.

You can improve skin quality, sure. But reverse time? No.
Minoxidil really isn't my area, I've not dealt a whole lot with drugs since I was at university. Sorry bro.

Yep, absolutely possible. Although it will be something specific within the moisturiser rather than moisturiser as a whole.
Yep, it does. Same with glabellar lines. I know facialists that can tell how you sleep by the line patterns on your face.
Do you sit in front of a window? If so, use SPF. If not, nah you're good.

People tend to not get PIE/PIH from Retin A unless they're using it improperly.
I've never called myself a specialist?

There is no way in hell that its delivering a 3% retinol to the skin so I'd be sceptical as hell purely based on that. Other than that, I've never tried it so couldn't comment.

Is it puffiness or darkness?

Thanks, brought it a while back and kinda regret it, waiting for my Retin A rn

My bags are dry and kinda hollow, don't know if it has a name tbh

If the skin is dry, make sure you're moisturising properly. Other that, there's not a ton that can be done with topicals really.

In terms of topicals: retinoids are your best bet, AHAs, vitamin C and niacinamide are all good options too. Most importantly though, protect your skin from any further damage, try to be as healthy as you can be and for fucks sake, wear sunscreen.

Topical vitamin C. I don't know enough about supplements to comment either way on oral.
I've never tried it, but I've just looked at the INCI list quickly and while I like the multiple molecular weights of HA, its likely to feel really quite heavy so unless you're particularly dry I wouldn't recommend.

GHK-cu, infrequent microneedling with Derminator2, red light therapy :)

Also, I've a question. How much better than SPF50 is SPF100? I saw an explanation say that SPF30 means your skin is 30x less likely to be damaged by UV rays. But based on what? So SPF1 would mean you're 1 time less likely to get burned, SPF2 would be double that.. But what's the metric? The explanation I read seemed pretty ambiguous and unclear.
