A 2019 study in macaques (they get androgenic alopecia as well) found that this drug more than doubled the hair on on balding macaques. Bayer sold the drug to a Chinese startup called Hope (Cope) Medicine, which has passed phase I trials and is starting phase II trials this year. It's not worth waiting for because by the time the drug is commercially available, I'd likely be 25 years old and dead anyways. However, the results are so damn good for the macaque study (not a mouse study!!!) that I'm in a discord group where we're looking into group buying the research compound and injecting the stuff ourselves.
