1. Johann Sebastian Bach, undisputed no.1 composer. Wrote thousands of pieces and cemented the standard at which music is still composed to today

2. Ludwig Van Beethoven, started the Romantic era, wrote some of the best pieces and got us out of the hell hole that was the classical era

3. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a fine composer, not really for me but basically the figurehead of the classical era

4. Franz Liszt - While beethoven was the first genius at the piano, Franz Liszt was the second.

5. Sergie Rachmaninoff - The master of the concerto, and wrote some damn good symphonies and solo piano repitoire and songs

999999. Frederick Chopin - Basically only wrote for one instrument, could not physically write for anything other than piano, overrated and all his pieces are basically just melody and accompaniment. Too much baby twinkly music, only good pieces are Ballads 1 & 4 and maybe the 2nd scherzo.

How I would do it
  1. Mozart- probably the most talented composer, so pissed he died at 35
  2. Bach- high t
  3. Beethoven- no single person has contributed as much to music, so much of the way music is written is owed to him
  4. Schoenberg
  5. Brahms
  6. Wagner
  7. Schostakovic
  8. mendelssohn
  9. Liszt
  10. Schubert
Agree with Chopin, a lot of his stuff sounds like improv or just basic structures but he has some gems
