I mean, in Naruto Sasuke is supposed to be a fucking handsome slayer with every girl drooling after him on first sight (so not even a "dark triad" thing).

Handsomeness in Naruto seems to be greatly related to fierce/sharp looking eye areas also, with rounded/completelynonsharp eyed Rock lee being displayed as the ugly loser guy, despite him actually beating the shit out of Sasuke in their first encounter and being one of the strongest ninjas

And as you see, even as a late teen-adult he has really really narrow shoulders. Maybe it's got to do with the artist drawing style in general for his characters but still. Its rare to see some male character being painted as a paragon of beauty not only not resorting to having wide shoulders and V shaped torso, but giving him actually very narrower than average shoulders. Does this cater to framecels so that we can see "some of ourselves" in the handsome characters? like some form of coping

I also noticed that the west is obsessed with exaggerated masculinity in all forms of their art, Especially americans. From their actions movies to their books its all about big burly Chads, but easterners(koreans and japs) seem to celebrate the pretty boy phenotype more.
