I made this thread about the effects of just a week of dopamine fasting https://looksmax.org/threads/quit-internet-reset-dopamine.119869/


This thread will be my observations of 3 days of me relapsing and nuking my receptors again.


No morning wood anymore

No motivation

No lucid dreams

Back aches (probably from rotting all day)

Mind not clear

No imagination

Not as social

Moody

Not happy

Not content with life





Going to try and get back on the dopamine fast, so hard to do right now with the quarantine though

Don't eat sugar, don't go on internet, don't jerk off. Do those things and you'll feel 10x better once you get past the withdraws

I did dopamine fast for 1 week last month. Coming back to Internet felt like putting 'parasites' and bugs, cockroaches back in my brain. The equivalent of bad diet bad sleep for your mental.

Its hard af thats why I relapsed and am back here. Just need to have strong willpower

i let my brother change wifi password and told him to only tell me it in 1 week, 0 wifi in pc or phone feels so fucking good

Yeah just don't do anything that artificially boosts dopamine. Internet is not natural, video games is not natural, porn is not natural, the amount of sugar in candy or junk food is not natural
Why not just limit it?
Because most people are addicted to it. Only way to get rid of addiction is to quit cold turkey

I've been rotting the last 3 days on here but before that I was going for hikes outside, doing yardwork, working out, hanging out with family, laying down and just thinking, its really boring tbh but then when you actually do something fun it will be 10x more exciting

I’d go hiking every day if I could just hike within a landscape like this each time to escape society and people.

Too bad I live in a small, flat and incredibly densely populated country, no escaping people here unless you stay inside.

I would also add diet. It has been proven that food affects your mood via the gut bacteria.
I fucked up my last 66 days of Nofap by easting a big fucking pizza and icecream..
I woke up the next day feeling like shit after being a social butterfly for weeks..

I Avoid sugary stuff like the plague and follow a low carb diet. Basically, when I work out I eat a small amount of healthy carbs, but when in a rest day, I do OMAD or no carbs diet.

I just limit sugar to a minimum. The amount of sugar in junk food is so unnatural

I have been doing it to focus on business mainly. Also very tired of this korona shit everywhere.

I have zero social contacts now because my relationship also ended a week ago.

I now live in my own bubble pretty much. Just whatsapp with 2-3 people and thats it.

- Deactivated IG
- Removed all news apps. Do not watch news.
- Sold Xbox. No gaming
- zero alcohol
- zero irl social life
- No Twitter
- Zero social media except for biz purposes
- No junk food
- Low reward foods
- Stay at home all day except for 1 hour walk in the park
- No pornography.

I also have been praying a lot recently.

Of course this won't be my lyf forever. It is necessary though to focus on certain important things.

No but I am starting to get used to living in solitary confinement.

I also do not miss IG, news, gaming etc.. I feel more calm I guess. No more notifications on me phone.

This truly works, also add in meditation, cold showers and waking up early and you have a recipe for an extremely happy life.

this is so legit, dopamine is god-tier, and you need to calibrate the reward pathways correctly via resetting.

Some people do this once ever month

They say it helps them keep their habits, and right towards the end of the period when their old habits start to come back, it would be time for another dopamine fast, and would reset their reward system
