I fucking hate Unity, I think it's some kind of prank, it's just so bad. Anyway, what is the best engine for 2d platformers? Although I'm not sure if there is any game programmers on this forum

when i was learning how to use it, yeah, i followed a tutorial for making a snake game or something. It's a lot easier than unity once you understand how it works

this, it's literally the worst branch in computer science you could take a job into. there's so many other profitable options that can ease your life so much
cloud being one of them
not to mention that if you're just starting into the game development industry you're most likely just gonna end up working on a damn hello kitty game or something like that

have you tried UE4 ? epic games was acclaiming it as a gigachad engine when It came out
