Bump, I'm also curious. High doses apparently can be toxic over a long period of time. I hate carrots, so I'm not get any beta carotene for the record.

Do you know if topical retinoids (vitamin a derivatives) have the same effect on your face as beta carotene? I've been putting adapalene on my face for over a month and I've noticed that my face looks more tanned/orange in comparison to the rest of my body. Would supplementing beta carotene make my face more orange?
