Is mewing progress possible with fixed retainers on top?

I have a fixed/permanent retainer covering my upper 6 teeth. Is it possible to mew with this?

Yes. It would be better without, but since this kind of retainer only fixes teeth together it shouldn't stop your maxilla and palate from changing too much
