both; chewing moves the lower jaw forward and facepulling moves the maxilla forward
It's essentially natural forces on steroids

how does chewing move the lower jaw forward

Chewing, or mastication, is thought to impact jawbone structure as bone is continually reconstructed along with alterations in mechanical load

Neither.

look at people with well developed mandible, they almost always have large masseter muscles - sign of lots of chewing

Chewing doesn’t move lower jaw forward smh
If that was the case then the maxilla will also move forward because the maxilla moves with the mandible

Bimax and then correct tongue posture.
Everything else is C-O-P-I-N-G.
Facepuller without surgery = false hope.
Mewing without surgery = false hope.
Chewing = false hope (for bringing jaw forward).

neither of them

all these bs mechanisms of trying to modify or blame the results of natural facial growth are cope/wrong

Dangerously low IQ. Humans have been chewing hard foods since time immemorial. It is just as "natural" as hormones causing bone formation, and whether something is natural or not doesn't even matter. The higher incidence of occlusive problems in modern generations are well documented. This is not a change in genes. An example is Aboriginals where the previous generations had top-tier forward growth, wide dental arches, straight teeth, and no problems related to occlusion. The present generation has messed up palates and teeth, bad growth, etc. This is in one generation. Furthermore, there are several studies showcasing mechanistic data for chewing causing forward growth and alveolar remodeling to make healthy, straight permanent teeth.

In the past I used to chew mastic gum for 4 hours every day, 2 hours on each side

What happened?

A tiny bit of masseter hypertrophy

Other than that?

Abso-fucking-lutely nothing

Zero mm's of extra forward projection of the mandibular body

It takes years it's not something that will change in months. Chewing is the mechanism that grows the jaw but the actual remodeling is very slow. It's cope unless you are still developing

Facepulling might give bimaxilary protrusion

neither. waste of time and bone will relapse anyway.

Lefort or cope

mouthguard

with the back part raised preferably

Chewing doesn’t provide forward growth, it just makes your jaw muscles bigger and gives you more jaw width.

Chewing only works with steroids. It's such a small muscle that any natural growth would be insignificant.

They have wide mandibles and normal size masseters
