Medium vs Short sides for hair

What’s the ultimate verdict on
this?

I agree like most people here that medium sides suit people more than really short sides like fades and undercuts.

However, there are still a few examples where people actually look better with short sides.

Good examples include Cillian Murphy (Tommy Shelby) and Joe (Blumaan).

What’s the reason behind this?

True in most cases, but just wanted to know the reason why some people actually look better with short sides.

you need to be robust and enough facial width to pull it off but even then medium sides are better imo

This is what I’m thinking too. So essentially you need a defined, wide and robust skull to pull of short sides, otherwise you will look shit.
