A new article published on nature.com is about fructose, the main nutrient in fruit and honey, also used as sweetener instead of sugar by some people.

The study exposes that fructose intake in human diet is associated with:
  1. obesity
  2. type 2 diabetes
  3. increase of oxydative metabolism (which means faster aging)
  4. fatty liver disease

conclusion:
  • Just like standard sugar (called scientifically sucrose), fructose is bad for your health, young skin and bodyfat.
  • You should get carbos from low sugar and low glycemic foods like whole pasta, whole rice, oats, rye bread, bulgur etc.
  • choose desserts and sweets made with artificial sweeteners (erythriol, xylitol, stevia, sucralose, aspartame) instead of sugar and fructose.

So they took the cells and injected them with pure fructose. This study just suggests that processed forms of fructose are bad like straight fructose, high fructose corn syrup, honey etc.. Nothing about actually EATING the whole fruit. Just like you take beets and isolate the sugar, take almonds and turn them into almond oil you get the point you are making a shitty food - getting rid of any nutrition, creating a calorie dense food and making it readibly absorbable, so what you think is going to happen? Fruits like berries for example are proven to reduce oxidative stress, slow down brain aging and increase insulin sensitivity one of the best foods tbh.

barries are one of the better fruits
i don't know the specifics but they give nutrients not found in many food. their size to juice density also mean they would be higher on fiber

you just cant eat more fructose than your liver can process in one bolus

eating a handful of berries or a bit of pineapple != drinking 20oz of fruit juice or a soda or eating some processed shit with 100g of corn syrup

if you can tolerate plants fruit in moderation is fine

that said almost no one eats it in moderation nowadays and all the fruits most people eat are grown in nutrient deficient soil and have ten times the sugar their heritage varieties would have contained 100 years ago

How is this bad? Do you even understand what you read? Healthy people have glucose metabolism turned to MAX as it's much better than oxidative stress that comes with fatty acids metabolism, which might be dangerous with low amounts of anti oxidants.

So many fruits actually lower your blood sugar spike after eating and actually even increase your insulin sensitivity (which is good)
