I'm no expert on gymcelling but it was the torso that looked good. Just seems well proportioned and balanced.

I'm no expert on gymcelling but it was the torso that looked good. Just seems well proportioned and balanced.
the torso looks good because of how the delt itself is placed/connected and his clavicles.

it "frames" the torso. imagine him with "sloped" delts like the last guy and he would instantly look a lot worse

This, for aesthetic shoulders you need the bony protrusion. It's not necessarily about a large bidelt, just the protrusion and angularity.

A good inch out from the widest part of his chest in either direction, rather than directly above it? The first dude seems to have straight clavicles, whereas the other guy's a slightly V-ed. Is that it?

there is but it's not exactly gonna be easy.

1. First guy's ribcage is narrower than his pelvis. If you want a better example look up 'Eric Helms' on insta. It won't look as aesthetic as say David Laid but it still looks better.

2. I'm sorry but you'll have to address your clavicles one way or another, I'm sure you know your options here

First guy has a godly shoulder shape, but it somehow looks like super lax ligaments than very long clavicles. Notice how his arms "hang" around his body, whereas the third guy is "stiff" in comparison - as if his shoulders are perma-shrugged. Makes me think if stretching the interclavicular and the sternoclavicular ligaments can achieve an a visible effect.

Anyone got any info on "unconventional" shoulder-broadening mechanisms/exercises?
 
Not the best example. All listed guys look malnourished as fuck in * before* photos. Pretty sure they all weighted 50-55kg on average.
Still, the gym is somewhat legit. As long as you weight 70 kg+ ( 80kg+ if 185cm height+) and sit on 8-14% body fat you should look good.

is there any way to tell if i have capped delts when i’m skinny af
idk. i think if u have good delt genetics ur delt will be very "defined" even at low development point and dissect from rest of body more like the first guy in OP
