We know that chin projection is a masculine trait and is one of they most important aspects of a chad side profile. But how much does it affect the frontal view?
I took a look at some celebrities with good and bad chin projections and compared it to their frontal and 3/4 view.
Cavil - very good projection, halos his already masc jaw.
.
Gandy - Decent projection and it sits in front of his lips. (this is my ideal)
Chico - decent projection, however it sits behind his lips.
Brad Pitt - weak projection and it sits behind his lips. One of his (very few) flaws.
Obviously I had to include Meeks - incel side profile but godly front
Notes:
- Seems like projection is noticeable from the front however only slightly. Meeks and Pitt who both have mediocre chin projections still have godly lower thirds. In this case the width and height seem to matter much more.
- 3/4 view the projection matters a lot more where we can see for Cavil and Gandy that their lower third looks more "projected" compared to the other three. It looks very masculine and robust. However, despite the other three having worse projection, their jaw still still look good which I attribute to their chin height and width.
(My) Conclusion:
- For frontal: chin height + width > projection.
- 3/4 view: chin height > chin projection + chin width
- Side profile: projection > height > width
