The Importance of Sleep

is the theanine better than cbd oil?

Old thread but another tip is to use apps that lock your phone and pc so you can't play runescape till 6 in the morning anymore. I've been using them and it made it really easy to go to bed at a reasonable time and wake up early in the morning so I have a full day to enjoy. Being well rested gives me super aesthetic hooded eyes too since my eyelids don't droop anymore. I can't recommend these apps enough honestly.

Being in bed at 11:00pm, fully asleep at 11:30pm and wake up without any alarm at 08:00am is step 0. If you are not getting at least 8 continuous hours of good sleep per day, you are not looksmaxxing.

This wasn't mentioned in the post but smart color changing lights, set to turn red at sunset, and turn blue around noon are really powerful. It was the last thing I did, on my years long journey of researching things, and trying things, that finally helped me sleep good at night.

Flux doesn't help with sleeping more, it just helps with eyestrain but it can ruin the graphics of a game and prevent you from focusing on work late at night, so it's not very good. I use it only a little, and only on my laptop, because even the lowest brightness setting is too bright late at night.

Sleep doesn't just help with looks but also mental health, sex drive and energy, those are the main benefits.

Red ones are expensive and barely any reviews on Amazon so might be a waste of money

What keeps you from getting good sleep?
Short answer, not having a habit of going to sleep at the same time everyday. It is very easy to fall asleep when you have a natural rhythm set in place.
View attachment 378431
It’s best to follow your body’s natural circadian clock. 8 hours of sleep is the standard recommendation, 10pm to 6am is a good time to sleep and wake for most people. Obviously not possible for everyone.

What fucks up your natural rhythm?
→ Artificial light sources before bed (Blue light)
→ Working night shifts
→ Stimulants: Forcing wakefulness on your body
→ Stress: Increased cortisol

----------SOLUTIONS----------

#1 Best Way: Blue Blockers
If you are not going to stop using your phone before bed, you should probably wear blue light glasses. Wear 3-4 hours before your bedtime. It’s almost impossible to fall asleep at the same time every day, but these make it so much quicker. Good article on blue blockers

When you want to buy blue blockers you will find clear, orange, or red lenses. The darker colored lenses will filter more harmful light than the clearer versions

#2 Blackout curtains or use Eye Mask
Tip: If you are going to use the blackout curtains, use black electrical tape and cover any cracks of light coming through (bottom of door, windows, etc.)

#3 Supplements
L-Theanine
It's an amino acid extracted from green tea. It will calm you down and also reduce stress by lowering cortisol.

Phenibut HCL
Is mostly used as a social lubricant, but will give you deep levels of sleep. Careful as this can have bad withdrawals if abused.

Not important, but this is very useful. It is a fitness tracker that tracks the amount of Deep & REM sleep you get every night. This will allow you to see your baseline of sleep with your current diet, exercise, routine, etc. And you will be able to make adjustments.

Over for me with insomnia and a job that totally rapes my sleep schedule

My job doesn’t let me sleep properly it has raped me 🤬😢

get some fucking sleep boyos

What is the f reason when I want to go sleep at like 11 pm I'm not tired, but then every morning I do wake up tired...
I go to bed at the same time each day, but my body doesn't adjust to it. Am only able to sleep within an hour taking melatonin 5 mg, and PMO... but then I only get like max 6.5 - 7 hours sleep.. Tried other sleep supplements they don't work for me.. I already have the blue light filters on my devices.. I have to blast coffee each morning to be productive...
