Welcome to tertiary education.

They love to reinforce the idea of self-directed learning, but never quite explain the process of how to do it.

Depending on your study area, a lot of it is regurgitating someone else's work that has been published in peer-reviewed scholarly literature.

In one form or another, it's essentially 'copy and pasting' someone else's idea into an essay. Which has always been the opposite of what was expected in secondary school...

Learn how to reference, and stay off Wikipedia.

The only 'studying' I did in university was studying old exams and learning the tricks to get the lowest passing grade.

Iam very good at memorizing in a short amount of time. I dont need to learn that much.
