So, about a month ago, I posted on Reddit about a 3D model I created: . It's the SCP foundation's SCP 106. This model was created with the idea of selling it. So I posted on Reddit that I was selling the 3D model for $20 per (royalty-free license). To my amazement, I now have 52.3k total views and 114 upvotes as of today. Regrettably, I did not sell a single 3D model. Nobody took the decision to buy it. The CGtrader store link received only 25 views. I believe there are two key causes for this: 1. Who needs a 3D model? People who buy 3D models are those who create movies and video games. There isn't a large group of people there. 2. The way I posted the 3D model wasn't optimal: To begin with, I only started creating 3D models a few months ago and am thus still inexperienced; as a result, the renders I created were terrible, and didn't do the model justice. I also did not include enough renders and did not create a video of the model. I should have added a video of the SCP performing the Fortnite dance (Haha funny dance, pls upvote reddit). I've since updated the store page with new renders, but I'm too lazy to do the rest of it. I have just released my second 3D model today: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/character/fantasy-character/hairy-creature

It came out very mediocre. I questioned a few months ago if selling 3D models was a decent way to moneymaxx: https://looksmax.org/threads/selling-3ds-models.735357/#post-11548028. With my limited experience, I'll have to say no. It appears to be a complete waste of time. But it's quite a bit of fun, so I'll probably create a few more to sell.

Also there is a saying..

Its easier to convince 1,000,000 people to give you $1 than it is to convince 1 person to give you a $1,000,000..

Lower ur price to $1 for licensing u fucking jewish nigger.

Anyone can spontaneously decide to blow $1.

I'll try out different pricing strategies with the next models I make.

As for why I set it to 20 euro, It's a completely reasonable price. Here's this guy: https://www.cgtrader.com/cavity for example who sells similar looking models for 40 euro.

TIC TACS COST $1.50 AND THEY MADE $204,000,000 IN SALES IN 2017 (136,000,000 purchases). LIKE I SAID ITS EASIER TO CONVINCE 1,000,000 PEOPLE TO GIVE U $1 THAN IT IS TO CONVINCE 1 PERSON TO GIVE $1MIL.

Just honestly end ur life if u dont sell ur next models licensing for $1. Im giving u high iq advice but u wanna be jewish and autistic jfl its over for ur IQ if u dont listen.

YOU GOT 50,000 VIEWS. 50,000 x $1 = $50,000 ...... IS THAT NOT ENOUGH FOR UR JEW BRAIN?

People consume tics tacs. They're tasty. They genuinely benefit from that dollar. But what do you do with a 3D model if you're not a filmmaker or a game developer? Look at it? even if the only reason is for you to glance at the 3D model. An issue arises when you realize that many of the applications required to run these 3D models cost several hundred dollars and require a powerful computer. The average person has little incentive to obtain a 3D model, even if it is only a $1 or free.

This is a strategy I've seen being used on the unreal marketplace. There's tons of softcore coomer hentai 3d models.

Anatomy is off since it's a monster. It's not supposed to be bound by human anatomy. Textures look bad because of render, check out the updated render

this is how i know you're a newb. even monsters are based off of real world anatomy. your shapes are non-existent. textures still look like shit. literally looks like you dragged and dropped a smart material of shit onto your model.

Well the textures are partly smart material (Am I not supposed to do that?). But I did also do some parts by myself like drawing a normal map in zbrush (wrinkles, ribs). What could I do to improve?

How about the second model (the one with fur) Is that better?

Youre laughably a fucking retarded autistic furry jfl kys moron. I can tell youre autistic because you take things literally. You have 0 friends, youre a loser, your mom wishes they aborted you.

The point of the advice is you can make more money by not overpricing stuff. Im not actually saying you just sell everything for $1. Youre literally just a fucking retard that cant comprehend that because once again youre a dumb fuck autist lmao.

Now I did tel him to sell for $1 but thats because I figured no one wanted to buy a deformed model and so I wanted him to see that his price was the issue.

yeah Ik u are never gonna get 136mil sales cuz there isnt a demand, so I guess $1 is too low, then try like $5. Even if theres only like 10 people who would wanna buy it.. u can still make more than $50 by... creating more models.

It's quite the opposite case actually
Spenders are a small subset of the viewer population, people who are willing to spend money on artistic non-primary things will buy shit at insane prices, those who usually don't will never hand you a single buck not even once

It's easier to persuade a small group of rich fans into giving you 100.000$ each than the vast majority of your userbase into giving you one single dollar

Look at most online Patreon pages, most paypigs just head straight to the most expensive roles with more features available, nobody buys cheap ranks because people who donate to other people on a monthly basis can usually afford to go all the way up

50k views really nothing on Reddit, obviously you couldn’t sell shit :lul:
Also tbh waste of time selling such niche products, only autists and little kids would be customer base. Niggas also told you to add a jacket, should have listened but regardless waste of time, look for a more popular niche and market it.

Also forgot to say but maybe don’t sell figurines, might have been easier selling a calendar or clothing (something these retards can use and therefore justifying their purchase). I don’t think you should change the price, $20 is decent and lower price doesn’t mean you will have higher profits. If you do decide on figures instead of useful shit, sell some shit niggas jerk off to but in general it’s not really that easy to sell useless shit tbh

Good idea. I should make 3d animated porn. the niggas that make such content make bank on patreon. I'm pretty shit at animating, but it's not too hard.
Only problem is that i'm not interested. I really only want to attempt to make scary/creepy 3D models.

Porn is kinda hard to sell imo, it’s just a very saturated market and turnover isn’t as great as most expect it to be. Also you wouldn’t be able to post on that subreddit, but if you were to go that route I’d probably use AI instead of making it myself. Just very competitive, obviously the richest niggas Ik are mostly from porn but it’s not an easy market and majority of niggas don’t really make much (OFM, CPA all the same shit tbh few niggas make bank, majority are broke)

If you know how to make 3d models I assume you have some basic knowledge of how to animate the models you make as well.
So personally I think you should direct your efforts into building a broader audience. Take a page from EnchantedMob's book for example. He (or they, whatever) made cheap animated music videos about minecraft songs or some shit (to build his audience). He then introduced his own original character to said audience, and then merchmaxxed the hell out of it.

Essentially, you're trying to take what you have right now (a 3d model about a character that no one knows or cares about) and turn it into something that actually makes money (a franchise).
That will take some time and effort but it seems like you are already investing both.

Probably better to make models for the unity store. Game devs would probably be more willing to shell out $$$
