the area is somewhat dark, my coworker today told me it looked even purple

I've been using this for a while now and it has reduced a bit of pigmentation and a few number of fine lines.

If its purple and dark, there's not a hell of a lot that much eye creams will do honestly. A retinoid eye cream might help slightly but most of them will really just moisturise and that's not going to fix the issue here. Concealer/colour corrector is likely to be your friend in this situation.
