Girl I'm not somali so sorry for the question but is honor killing a thing amongst somalis ? I see a lot of somali men on social media threatening to kill somali women because they find them shameful or not respectable enough to their liking . And now I see this so it's making me wonder . Is it a thing in your culture like in middle eastern countries ?

Not that I am aware of. None of my friends or family members have ever been threatened with murder for dating out or not adhering to the tenets of Islam. I am not saying that it doesn't happen, but I am not aware of it being a thing. Honour killings go against Islamic teachings as well. A lot of Somali men date out BTW, they may be discouraged but they don't get disowned for it. TBH if you go on tiktok you'll see how Somalis get railroaded by other Muslim communities for being too relaxed so half of the fonts on here spewing anti somali rhetoric have no idea what they're talking about.
