An embarrassing fact that I have to realize.
Teenage is the period of time when your self-esteem is most vulnerable and you need most validation from others. Having severe acne in this period of time will make you repulsive to your peers, driving them away from you, no matter how social, competent and interesting you are. Consequently, you're more likely to be lonely, insecure, over sensitive and miss out on important things a well-adjusted, sexually successful teenager is supposed to experience (girlfriend, sex, partying etc).
It's a kind of selective system to filter out inferior genes, even if your bones are fine. Did any universally recognized chads suffer from severe acne in your adolescence? Not that I know. They might get some pimples after becoming famous, due to stress or bad lifestyles. But they're already haloed by status and they have their personal stylist / makeup artist.
Teenage acne can destroy your life once and for all. Even after it's gone from your face, the scars still remain in your heart.
