I don't really know I guess for men if you have those stereotypical "nigger" lips aka big plump fat lips as well as bimaxillary protrusion you probably won't look very aesthetic especially when you leave your mouth open.

People like Sean opry and david Gandy have thin, wide, and defined lips.
