This was asked many times before yet I never found a good answer. I wish to earn 80k in 5 years, which is maybe possible, but I would lose most of it on taxes and would need to earn huge amounts just to reach this minimum. What are the best legal ways to reach this earning, assuming i will lose around 70% on taxes alone and another thousand dollars on cost of living?

give up, a ricecel in STEM earns triple that in a year, some people earn way way more.

only people that should become a pathetic rotting cunt like me are those who are in the same situation, i have no idea what OP's situation is, if he's high IQ, very extroverted or good-looking, any of those, then by all means go live life. not everyone is so lucky

Where do you live that you would be paying 70% tax on a salary of just 80k USD?

True, but you ignored so many factors of this statement

If you're getting taxed 70% and losing $1K/mo for cost of living, then you need a comfy office job to have the amount of saving you're looking for.

Serbia. Taxes are 10-15%, but assuming I work as a freelance writer, I will pay another 52% for social security contributions. If I work with someone else its usually split in half, so it would be around 26%, but if I want to work with someone abroad I would have to pay it all by myself. This is 67% of my initial income, but I overshot it with the expenses outside of taxes. Either way, its more than 70% of your earnings

Your country is pretty much making sure that there is no freelance industry. Such a dumb tax structure. It would be better to just raise taxes on everybody by 5-10%.

You have to go to college, learn a VALUABLE, trade, or do something risky like start your own business.

It's not easy anymore to make money. Either way you have to work hard so let's get that straight. Success is about hard work in 2023.

I guess its a result of socialism in a way. People here usually rely on someone else, either working in education, in hospitals, or even in more modern jobs, they usually have someone above them. Really stupid and it made a lot of young people leave for the places with better taxation laws and earnings.

I always feel bad for those very smart, good looking young teachers, who could've easily earned more with their IQs had they been more low inhib, but I don't blame them, taxes screwed them as well as their parent's teachings based on their life in socialist Yugoslavia

Yeah I made a mistake, social security contributions are really that high but you only pay them a certain amount. For example, they are counted up to 1.5k dollars, meaning of those 1.5k dollars you might lose 750 and if you earned for example 3k, other 1.5k will be taxed only 10%

I doubt you can make 80 k in your bank account in Macdonalds even if you dont pay rent.

I agree, I cringe really hard when people who watch Tate start talking about "muh I will earn money online", but realistically, prospects of earning 4 times the average salary here from home is too tempting

I have come to the conclusion that if you're arent very smart and i mean flew through school and did some sort of STEM degree early on then forget it. The other option is a business. Some mid IQ people are good with making money ( hustlers ) i doubt anyone here is one of them. A high-paying job will require years of studying/training to acquire and it's not guaranteed. You're stuck like me making a baisc wage. I'm sure there are ways to make money but i cant find any. My only option is to trade my time for money and its depressing as fuck especially now with inflation and living cost. Living and trying to save a basic salary now is like trying to empty the water out of a sinking ship with a tea cup.
