I would unironically get into chink shit… not out of curiosity or some other banal xenophilic urge but as a sign of force: just to invade, just to intrude, just to be a nuisance, just because I can.
I'd start watching Dunhuang dances and Peking operas, actually pick up calligraphy, get into Tang era LARP tea ceremonies, collect silver jewelry with jades, I don't fucking know…
My point is that none of it is actually worth anything but I would love to say that it's all trash as both an outsider and an authoritative figure by dedicating my hypothetical life to this practical joke.
The common misconception is that China is an insular and highly demanding culture when in reality it's anything but, it's just that nothing about it is marketable.
