Italian coronavirus death toll leaps 23% in one day to 1,016 as the total number of cases in the country passes 15,000


The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak in Italy has jumped in the last 24 hours by 189 to 1,016, a rise of 23 per cent. Total cases rose to 15,113 from a previous 12,462, an increase of 21.7 per cent.
