The current method we use to measure midface ratio (IPD divided by the distance from the pupils to the top of the lip) is flawed because it's affected by lip height.

Instead of measuring down to the top of the tip, the vertical component of midface ratio should be measured down to the middle of the lips.

When measured this way, the model's midface ratio is 0.99, which makes sense.

which should be the golden ratio. (this would cancel out the philtrum)

Midface ratio takes into account stuff like philtrum length and lip depth and border. Actual midface is the upper facial height of your face: As you can tell, the philtrum and other stuff are part of the lower facial height so shouldn't be accounted for when measuring midface. The proper way...
