analyzed 28 studies with data on death by suicide following bariatric surgery. Based on their analysis, the estimated suicide rate for the bariatric surgery population is 4.1 deaths per 10,000 patients (95% confidence interval [CI]: 3.2–5.1/10,000). When compared to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) suicide data for the general population (1.0/10,000), the investigators reported a four-fold increased risk of death by suicide among patients who underwent WLS
women who received WLS were 4.5 times more likely to die by suicide than those in the comparison group. The researchers also noted a 30-fold increased risk of self-harm behaviors in patients after their WLS who also had a history of self-harm behaviors in the two years prior to surgery. The authors note that self-harm behaviors tended to remain stable during the years leading up to surgery, but then increased dramatically in the two-year postoperative period
Meta-analyses supported an inverse association between BMI and completed suicide. Pooled summary estimates demonstrated that underweight was significantly associated with an increased risk of completed suicide (HR = 1.21, 95% CI 1.07 to 1.36, p = .002), and obesity (HR = 0.71, 95% CI 0.56 to 0.89, p = .003) and overweight (HR = 0.78, 95% CI 0.75 to 0.82, p < .0001) were significantly associated with a decreased risk of completed suicide relative to normal weight.

Its also why people who have a hard time getting out of bed have a lower fear of heights. Their thought to impulse distance is high, while people who get out of bad immediately are more likely to have a fear of heights due to their thought and impulse being closely linked. Fat people have a harder time moving and deciding to exert themselves so they are less likely to carry out slitting their wrists etc. although It would be interesting if gunshot sucides actually went down a huge extent amongst fatties

Is this true?

My hypothesis is that enjoying/wanting a lot of food is interlinked with the general enjoyment of other things in life. High blood pressure phenotype experiences less pain in general

I'm a skinny Reckful/Kurt Cobain like phenotype who has to force food into himself and gets no enjoyment from eating
