My brother is my dad’s favorite child and always has been. It never mattered what my brother did to him, what he said to him, how he treated him—my dad always loved him more. Meanwhile, no matter how successful I was, nor how many uni degrees I could graduate with, nor how much I took care of my father—he never appreciated it and still doesn’t to this very day.

I don’t hate my dad because I can’t hate a parent and I can’t even blame him for having a favorite child because nobody is immune to favoritism. It’s just so odd. You always feel like an outsider to your own parent and it is simply… strange.

Two questions.

Who takes after your father more? Who's more like him, you or your brother?

Who's older?

My brother is 7 years older. He physically looks more like my dad, while I look like my mom. Neither of us really behave like him nor have his mannerisms.
