In that post I talked about how we can eventually work out what ratios are ideal for aesthetics on a male face, so that should we choose to surgerymax, we will know exactly how much augmentation to get, and where. However, to make this more valid, I used a fairly large sample size, and worked out the ratio for a total of approximately 40 gl guys.
Results:
Statistical Breakdown
The 3 most important statistics:
Average (mean) - 1.1477
Median (the middle value) - 1.1446
Standard deviation - 0.0950
Graphs:
From the graphs and the statistics, I would estimate that the ideal lower third to middle third ratio is somewhere around 1.05 - 1.20.
And also, owing to the fact that it is hard to locate an exact point where the middle third ends and the upper third starts, this measurement is subject to error. However, I did my best to work around this by using a point that is slightly above or just meeting the upper eyelids, but even this isn't perfect, and therefore not 100% valid. I also eyeballed it and would most likely have overestimated some of the lengths and underestimated others.
And for those of you want to know how I did the measurements, here's an example of how I separated the thirds:
