Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of an aesthetic focused maxillofacial surgeon based in the UK?

I live here, and it would be much easier to get surgery here then travel to the states for example. There must be some good maxfac surgeons here.

No idea, you most likely have to do the same thing as i'm doing, go see a bunch of them.

Going to Paris tomorrow to see the last 3 of them. 3/4 of those i've seen literally refused to do a bimax for esthetic reasons only, and all of them gaslighted me into not going for it.

There are definitely some who do it, probably more expensive though, but I actually have an overbite and narrow palate so I need Sarpe and BSSO

just go to Italy

So there is actually no one in the UK who focuses on aesthetics based Maxfac surgery ? What about Harley street ?

Remember, just because a doctor is specialised in a specific area, doesn't automatically make him competent. After all, doctors just want to make money too. I have talked to quite a few docs but never went through with surgery. From reviews I read and how well doctors explained it to me, there's not really a clear relationship between prices charged and patient satisfaction/outcome of surgery

I heard Dr. Brusco or Dr. Triaca in Zurich are good, but that's just what I read. I have talked to Dr. Triaca (for craniofacial jaw reshaping) twice but I didn't go ahead with the surgery because it seemed extremely complicated, expensive, and insurance wouldn't pay. Like in any profession there's lots of incompetence around.

I got my nose done in Germany because it's cheaper than Switzerland, by a surgeon who usually does noses but he messed up, I hate my nose even more now :trepidation:

If I were you I'd read reviews and go talk to the doctor and see if he can explain it well. You need to feel comfortable with your choice and consider all this mentioned stuff

Ball park figure of BSSO with him ?
not sure about the recent prices but in general people get both lefort 1 and bsso. if you think you only need bsso you still need lefort 1 for occlusion etc.

+20k i guess.

In UK it will be more expensive
And I don't know anyone that does it for aesthetic reasons only, although some might
But yeah probably just go Italy

It’s okay if it’s more expensive because the cost of the flight plus accommodation will add up if I go abroad either way

You could get a return flight to Italy for like £50. And accom would be a few hundred

Dr ramieri advised foreign clients that it would take at least 3 weeks overall to get the consult, surgery, recovery. What type of accommodation charges only a few hundred for 3 weeks ? Especially in the capital of Italy

It doesn't take 3 weeks to recover from bimax to the point u can't leave. You should be done within the week. And do u even need an in person consultation first? If they have scans etc, maybe online is fine. If not, get another return flight for the day
Bimax with ramieri is like £20k I think, bimax in UK would be £30k or more likely, and they would've have done looksmaxxing cases

Why do I need bimax if lower maxilla is fine ? I only have an overbite so I just need to lengthen lower jaw, no? Or would a sliding genioplasty be needed instead ?

I didn't know u didn't need bimax. Then idk, if your overbite is bad enough to the point u think u need bsso without advancing maxilla, maybe NHS would do it.
I haven't seen u so I can't say if sliding genioplasty would work instead. But if u have an overbite/overjet, likely not
