Nah, there are gems in anime

Nothing made in the made in the west, especially "dark and matoor" content can really do or say anything interesting. No one in the west would he allowed to male something like AoT where the protagonist commits genocide and is at least portrayed as ambiguous. Or depict a chatacter like griffith

Supposedly "dark" western content with "antiheroes" like John wick is just about a cuck widower killing a bunch of goons in self defense. Even if just 10% of anime is actually good it mogs the 99% garbage put out by the west

American media has to ride off the coat tails of stuff made decades ago, and even then the adaptations/reboots are mostly garbage/downgrades. You can have something like the Wheel of Time serious and have it be halfway decent but it can only go so far when there isn't another Robert Jordan
