Why do we find the Golden Ratio the most attractive ratio on faces?
Did we evolve to like Phi because some healthy faces ages ago just happened to have that ratio, and it became ingrained in our brains? Or are we attracted to it because of the number's geometrical importance and ability to create beautiful fractals, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense when it comes to sexy faces?
How come our brains didn't evolve to be the most attracted to simpler ratios like 2:1 or 3:2 instead of 1+√5:2? Why do we even like aesthetic ratios at all? Why aren't we attracted to faces that are plainly the best suited for survival and may not fit any particular ratios?
