Most users may already know the information in this thread (I.e. water JFL), but I just wanted to summarize already posted content in a more concise manner.

Phenotype is a biological term used in genetics to refer to the composite observable characteristics or traits of an organism, including its morphology, developmental processes, biochemical and physiological properties, behavior, and products of behavior. In PSL, it is used loosely to describe a set of interrelated concepts. One of these concepts is the human phenotype as a kind of sub-racial class, based on anthropological work done in the 20th century. Another concept is the "vibe" or physical image that one presents to the world.

The following are detailed explanations of various phenotypes (not all):

  • Nordic: The Nordic phenotype is characterized by light skin, hair, and eyes, with a tall stature and a long, narrow face. This phenotype is commonly associated with people of northern European descent, particularly those from Scandinavia.

  • Tronder: The Tronder phenotype is a subtype of the Nordic phenotype found in central Norway, particularly in the Trondelag region. This phenotype is characterized by a rounder face and shorter stature than other Nordic subtypes, along with light skin, hair, and eyes.

  • North Atlantid: The North Atlantid phenotype is found in the British Isles, Iceland, and parts of Scandinavia, and is characterized by a tall stature, long face, and angular features. Individuals with this phenotype often have light skin, hair, and eyes, with a tendency towards ruddy complexions.

  • Mediterranid: The Mediterranid phenotype is found in the Mediterranean region and is characterized by a medium stature, dark skin, hair, and eyes, with a broad, round face. This phenotype is often associated with people from southern Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

  • Eurafricanid: The Eurafricanid phenotype is found in North Africa and the Middle East, as well as parts of southern Europe. It is characterized by a medium stature, dark skin, hair, and eyes, with a more elongated facial structure than the Mediterranid phenotype.

  • Gracile Mediterranid: The Gracile Mediterranid phenotype is a subtype of the Mediterranid phenotype found in the eastern Mediterranean region, particularly in Greece and Turkey. This phenotype is characterized by a tall, slender stature and delicate facial features, with light skin, hair, and eyes.

  • Trans Mediterranid: The Trans Mediterranid phenotype is found in the eastern Mediterranean region and is characterized by a tall stature, narrow face, and prominent nose. Individuals with this phenotype often have dark skin, hair, and eyes.

  • Indid: The Indid phenotype is found in India and is characterized by a medium stature, dark skin, hair, and eyes, with a broad, flat face. This phenotype is often associated with people from South Asia.

1587454533125-png.366893
  • Indo Melanid: The Indo Melanid phenotype is a subtype of the Indid phenotype found in southern India and Sri Lanka. It is characterized by a medium stature, dark skin, hair, and eyes, with a more elongated facial structure than the Indid phenotype.

1587454661391-png.366896
  • Veddid: The Veddid phenotype is found in Sri Lanka and is characterized by a short stature, dark skin, hair, and eyes, with a broad, flat face. Individuals with this phenotype often have a high forehead and a prominent nose.

It's worth noting that while phenotypes can be useful for identifying certain physical traits, they do not necessarily indicate genetic ancestry or ethnicity. Additionally, there is often overlap between different phenotypes, and individuals may exhibit characteristics of multiple phenotypes.

This thread is just an introduction. Here is a good resource to learn more about the subject:

Tldr: Phenotypes are basically how we can tell people apart based on what they look like. It's all about physical characteristics or traits that can help us put people into different groups.
