anyone here who just can't study no matter how strong do you need it? Do I have ADHD?

Basically I have never ever willingly studied, it was either my parents who always checked me if I did my homework or I would have consequences with really bad grades. My attention just goes away and the thought of taking my phone and watch something is too strong. Problems with attention don't stop here, I remember when I was in elementary school I always missed what did my teachers gave us for homework. I also can go out and just completely ignore reality and drain into my thoughts like nothing.
I'm in uni right now and this has been a big problem for me. I know a guy who is not the sharpest tool in the shed(not only I think like that but my friends too, he's talking slow and his logic seems irrational) but still studies better than me. I got butthurt when I discovered he's got better results than me on a very important test which led me into my uni. Right now I'm writing this post instead of doing my assignment which deadline is less than 2 hours.
Do you think I have ADHD or I'm just lazy?
Anyone who solved this issue here?(JFL at asking org users but I genuinely don't want to go to reddit since it's taking too long to get an answer).

I’m in a similar situation myself. It’s probably a motivation problem. You said yourself it was easier to concentrate in school because your parents would threaten you with stuff. So try and find something that’ll motivate you to work hard. How your parents will go ballistic if you fail, how a degree will land you a job, etc.

Nothing truly motivates me actually, I remember when I had Iphone 5s and my parents told me that if I win a contest with my brother with squats they will give me a new much better one. Long story short, I lost the contest because I didn't really try hard even though I wanted it. I guess my laziness is permanent or I have ADD.
Sadly now I don't have parents who watch me and I can't make up any solutions to this. I've set parents control on laptop, made a schedule on a phone nothing worked.
Thinking about my future As you mentioned doesn't help either, I think if I fail I'll just rope Lmao. I'm literally too lazy to live

I had a oneitis that went to another uni and it changed everything the day I saw her. I went from nearly failing a unit to 3% away from a distinction. Was about to drop out and made an insane comeback

I think we have to admit that we never worked hard in studies like that. If you're naturally 'clever' concepts will come easy to you and you can just derive stuff from limited knowledge in early levels of schooling. But at some point you need proper knowledge of the course and U can only get that through consistent engagement and study.

But also u need to actually like what you're studying. If you just do stuff because oh no my parents will get angry you won't pick the stuff you want to do which also hinders performance.

Yep, saw threads on reddit about prodigies who fail miserably in college. They must have gotten so used to get grades so easy that they never learned how to study. I'm on the other hand was never a prodigy and my situation might be even worse in the future

It's because I'm subhuman ngl. Getting decent grades was my only good trait. You need to be a confident or at least hard working person to succeed in the career rat race. Someone like me who doesn't have real life skills and isn't motivated to study consistently is not going to last in uni let alone real world.

I'm In similar situation... Studying was always easy for me... But in recent year I'm getting my ass beaten everyday, no motivation, no time management, no respect... And I don't feel anything about it like bro tap in tf u doing. We ball mentality
