Restaurants (not counting fast food) are a complete scam. I will use burgers as an example but this can be applied to any type of food
I can make two great tasting burgers at home for 2 patties = £1.60, enough cheese = 50p, two burger buns = 50p =
£2.60 for two good tasting burgers (or let’s say £3.50 as i will eat it with a side of homemade fries and usually a soda can)
Now let’s say you go to a restaurant and get the same thing (burger + fries + drink), this will be easily £20 if not £25-30 in some cases if it’s some hipster place.
Why in the goddamn fuck would you spend 10x more on something you can easily make at home? Note that as i said at the start i don’t count fast food like mcdonalds or takeaway like chinese takeouts as that’s actually cheap and it makes sense to eat that if you are outside and hungry on occasions. But going to actual restaurants is giga retarded. I haven’t been to one in over a year since i became good at cooking at home.
