Stop talking shit about your future boss

We all know that IB/PE firms are paying Princeton Gender Study Graduates 200k first year and promoting them to VP instantly

They don't care about actual skills and knowledge

for management degrees

Insead France

for engineering and technology

Technical universities in Germany , French Ecoles and TU delft Netherlands are all doing good work

In mainland Europe , uiversities are small and in many cases they have certain specialites so you dont see powerhouse brands like in USA , also germans for example are anti elitist and pro socialist , germans will never like something elite like ivy league which at the end of the day is a cash cow , taking bucks out of rich parents pockets.

But imagine spending 400k on your ivy league accounting degree and not getting into IB/PE

Ending up with a regular employee with a 60k salary

Youll need 14 more years to simply repay for your degree

You go to Ivy Leagues to legally convert to Judaism and make 7 figures. No other reason.

There are way more ivy graduates than IB/PE job opportunities

Universities to study what?

Just general Elite Unis
Doesn't mean anything per se, some unis have really good, reputable programs, but their name is not "prestigious".

To only list the unis with some prestige, you basically have to leave out most engineering programs, leaving only top Business and management schools at the top (mostly).

But I'd say, Polytechnique (X), Mines Paris, ENS Ulm, HEC, ESSEC, ESCP, Bocconi, maybe ETH Zurich (Outside EU), then Rotterdam school of Management, an that would be pretty much it tbh.

Btw what is your opinion on the " Economics & Finance" Undergraduate Programme at Tsinghua University in Beijing ?

Tsinghua is #1 in china and #19 globally
Peking University is also a good alternative

Mandarin is also a useful language to be more competitive

Tsinghua and Peking are top tier wherever you go. Comparison to UK/US unis, it's probably on the same level as LSE/Imperial/Columbia/Penn. In other words, a notch below Oxbridge and mid-tier Ivy level. Its prestige is only going to skyrocket in coming years as China grows in soft power and more international students become attracted to China for tertiary education.

However, the one downside is that you may get undesirably profiled when job hunting in the US due to increasing US/China tensions.

In terms of Chinese unis as a business school, it's definitely way below top UK/US though. The above comparison concerned lay prestige. Tsinghua/Peking are more known for STEM. Still, they're good business schools but don't compare to LSE etc.

HSG is one of the leading business schools worldwide and has among the most billionaire alumni in the world. It may be small and not that well known, but still one of the best.

A discussion is useless at this point if you really believe the population of a city correlates with the quality of an university.

Know no uni in the NL besides UoA and Erasmus. The one you talk about is kind of noname to me, and I'm pretty sure no one knows about it outside of the Netherlands.

edit: just realised you didn't care. thought you had been replying to me lol, but yeah still holds

true. it's a dutch uni for the dutch elites. basically.

Obviously.

I had to google up St Gallen. Thought it was some random UK uni, turns out it's swiss.

Now imagine picking fucking St Gallen over ETH Zurich or EPFL, two mogger STEM schools. Any basic engineering/science degree from one of those two institutions would mog St Gallen to suicide, forget about Tsinghua/Peking.

As for the rich alumni, it's like Menlo College in the states. Rich kids who can't make it into Stanford go to Menlo. Rich kids who can't make it to ETH go to St Gallen. Its brand name is useless; rich people just have more connections on average. If you're not rich don't expect anything from going to St Gallen lol

This is what people don't understand

The people that go to these private business school often are rich kids with connections whose success can't be attributed to the university

I will try to get to get into HKUT " Economics & Finance" B.Sc. next year
It might even be better than Tsinghua/Peking because Honkong is known in both China and Internationally and having STEMcels at your campus also seems useful in case you want to join a startup early
