How can an adult overjet affect your face and can it be fixed. With pictures

When I create any sort of suction with my mouth my lips get pulled back making them look thin and creating an uneven look. Can braces fix this I’ve been wearing mine for a little more than a year I see no improvement this this problem. Does correcting an over-jet pushed the the jaw/chin forward. First picture is mewing the are normal.
