I met a Japanese guy at work and it’s clear this guy dislikes me despite sharing common interests and trying to add value by recommending places to shop and what not since he’s new to the city. I asked him if he wanted to skate on a certain day (this is the first time I’ve asked someone to hang out platonically since high school) and he pretended not to understand. He acted pretty friendly in person too which is why I’m kind of hurt

People usually (not always) make friends with similar PSL. Doesn't always apply though
