How long should I wait to start consulting with bimax surgeons?

I already have 8 months in braces and I have gotten along well with my orthodontist who understands my blackpilled/aesthetics approach. He has a surgeon in Costa Rica in mind but has been open to working with other surgeons as well.

He has mentioned Alfaro as a very good surgeon and also knows about Raffaini.

He says that I'll probably be ready for surgery sometime in 4-5 months, and I was wondering if I should start doing online consults since I assume that some surgeons might want a very slightly different teeth position depending on what the advancements we discuss with each one.

I'm still not sure about Alfaro because of all the "dogmaxxed" comments I've read in here and the alleged negative reviews on the jaw surgery subreddit. And Raffaini has some mixed reviews as well but some people here seem to agree that Raffaini is "guaranteed ascension".

How should a process like this go with a braces first approach?
