True, but it would be nice if you could explain it to them so they can understand your reasons for doing this?
I'd probably write a long letter because explaining in person is probably nearly impossible. It would be a shock for them. Most people don't even know about the surgery.
I don't want to cut contact with my family because of more height, that's for sure.
Also, you need other people's help for a few months after the surgery.
