People here need to read a history book. You’re not so smart when you blabber off about IQ and Africa being a combination of failed states.
ALMOST EVERY SINGLE AFICAN BORDER IS AN ARTIFICIAL BORDER.
What does this mean? Well it means, African nations are not drawn across ethnic lines. They are not drawn to represent a unique people with a unique culture settling in one geographic territory. They were drawn by european colonial authorities as a means to slice up the continent amongst themselves without having to go to war.
This is why when you say “nigerian people“, you cannot say it in the same context as “German people”. The difference is there for you right on wikipedia.
Nigerian people refers to people from the country known now as nigeria. German people refers to an ETHNIC group of people who share a common culture and common DNA. This will be important later.
When you Europeans tout Europe being so successful, you guys will go straight to IQ but forget that pretty much every border in Europe has been drawn across ethnic lines for hundreds of years. Groups of people got their own nation, which allowed them to develop social cohesion across the generations and build a stable society with a common view for the future. IQ played a role, but Europeans having the privilege of building Ontop a solid ethnic foundation certainly helped.
Meanwhile in Africa, this is not the case. Outside of maybe Ethiopia, the borders were drawn in a way that divided ethnic groups and then grouped these ethnic groups with other ethnic groups, which both have no relation to each other.
In africa, its extremely common for a country to have 2-3 dominant ethnic groups with ADDITIONAL minorities. All with different beliefs, all with different histories, all with different customs. How do you expect a nation built on such weak bedrock to succeed? We know how Powerful tribalism and ethnic nationalism are.
You can’t tout how mass migration is bad due to the switching of demographics, which leads to instability and then completely forget about making that statement when talking about Africa. There is no mass migration to Africa, sure. But pretty much every African nation is the end result of Multiple ethnicities and as a result, no dominant culture.
Just look at this map. When colonization was already underway in Africa, you had many different independent nations and kingdoms that were ethnically/culturally homogenous
Once colonization was completely solidified, all those ethnic kingdoms and nations disappeared and turned into this. Colonial possessions with borders drawn for colonial interests ONLY.
You expect this to create flowers and rainbows? Put any race into this situation and they would develop a bunch of failed states as well. It’s just bound to happen.
Let’s not act as if white people can’t fuck up and create shit tier countries. Look no further than countries in South America like Argentina. Asians can create shit tier societies, even when ethnically homogenous. The republic of China (the China before the current one) was a broken down vassal state rife with poverty. The CCP was a 3rd world gutter for decades.
Then there’s the fact that Africa only started decolonization as early as the 50’s and had the process last up until the mid 1970’s (Portugal desperately tried to hold onto Angola and Mozambique )
So not only do you expect nations with no ethnic bedrock to somehow succeed, you expect them to succeed in 46-70 years? For reference, America was a backwater shithole for the first 50-100 years of its existence. It didn’t even become a power until the 1800’s. And only became a world power by WW1.
A lot of the opinions on Africa, are motivated by prejudice. An internal bias. Or to put it quite plainly, straight up racism.
