Yeah it seems that way.

It’s no longer throw up any site, pay some kid with an instagram of 250k followers €100 to promote your product and you’ll get maybe 50-100 sales.

Nowadays it seems you need firstly an extremely good product early

Organic content 3x a day on 4 different platforms,
running Facebook ads,
Email marketing
Upsells
Fast shipping
A product that doesn’t break or refund
Customer retention

I’d say dropshipping works but it’s basically managing a business at this point and is a lot of work
