I see what you mean, but keep in mind that the child doesn't necessarily end up ugly just because the father had bad genetics, sure the risks are higher but in the end genetic recombination is very powerful and in many instances i have seen a parent who's genetics was shit have a GL child by pairing up with another attractive human.

So in the end, if the recombination results in good looking offspring, then it doesn't really matter in the end and it would still be deemed successful from an evolutionary perspective, regardless of the genetic quality of one parent.
