But yes, I think so op. When people are unable to comprehend something, there exists a defence mechanism that instinctually dismisses said concept as low iq/autist/schizo; ie its foreign, unknown and i dont understand it therefore bad.

May not be highly correlated with low iq, but also the additional factor of other personality traits like cynicism

You maybe heard the term "stupid person's idea of smart person" - for IQcels (which is majority of people) it's most impressive when a slightly-above-average IQ dude says stuff that they themselves couldn't think of or put neatly into words, even though it's still milquetoast, basic and obvious take just presented in pretentious and pseudointellectual way as if it's the deepest shit ever - as that is the peak of what the low to average IQ people are able to comprehend, yet it's presented to them like golden thoughts of genius philosopher so they feel like they're attaining enlightment.
Paulo Coelho, Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, Hasan Piker etc probably could make entire list of such characters who at the end of the day are just medium-IQ averages
Meanwhile actual studies of high IQ people are not even attainable to be understood by average person (and it's not even matter of scientific jargon etc) so such people never get wide recognition


Although it's of course worth adding that majority of people who think "they're too smart so normies don't get them" are in 99% of cases just retards themselves
