I constantly hear how people are going to "quit the forum soon" because they want to focus on their social life / exercise / occupations etc and they want to stop "rotting".
IT WILL NOT CHANGE ANYTHING!
If you want to focus on some important things in your life, fucking go ahead. I don't see why you would need to quit the forum to do this, because you're still always going to have free time that you would normally spend on this forum. If you try to quit the forum, you're just going to be sitting there doing nothing, or doing some other equally, or arguably MORE, useless activity like watching youtube or playing video games.
I still go to the gym about 2 hours a day on average and go to parties on the weekend and yet I rot here a lot of the other time instead of doing other equally useless activities. I simply choose this forum to be the main source of my entertainment in my free time. It doesn't impede on any goals that I have.
If this forum is occupying too much of your time and is impeding on your ability to do other important things, just use it less. Quitting cold turkey or requesting a ban has been an utter failure for 99% of users who have done so. All it does is make you waste your free time sitting there doing nothing as you mentally stroke your dick to the thought that you're more productive and superior to everyone on here simply due to the fact that you've overcome your urge to use this forum. Congratulations...
And of course, they come crying back nearly every single fucking time after they realise that they still have copious amounts of free hours where they aren't exercising, wage-slaving or socialising.
Also, requesting a ban in order to prevent yourself from using the forum is utterly retarded. You either want to use the forum or not. If you don't want to use the forum, just don't fucking use it. The only instance self-banning is gonna make a difference is if you still have a strong urge to use the forum, in which case the urge will bottle up inside of you turning you insane until you inevitably give in and make a ban appeal.
I will never request a ban on here for that very reason.
