To start off, this might definitely be a water thread.

Secondly, for those already skeptic about this assertion, I will not be citing any studies in this thread. This will be based on my own experiences, so take with that what you will.

One thing that I always remember my parents telling me as a young, naive child was, "chew your food well." They had good reason to tell me this; I had a propensity to choke on my food, particularly on melted cheese and octopus/squid. I obviously was incognizant of the ramifications of not chewing enough, so like the autistic goofy goober I was, I continued my habit of chewing fast and inadequately.

Fast forward to the end of elementary school/beginning of middle school, I was a chronic mouthbreather at least partly due to my lack of masseter development, resulting in chin recession, buck teeth/dental misalignment, shit lip posture, and chunky tonsil stones, among other symptoms. At around this time, my dentist put in a "habit-correcting" program --- Wearing a mouthguard at night and as much as possible during the day --- to correct my tongue posture. Looking back at it, I'm grateful that my parents put me into this quasi-orthotropic treatment instead of braces, which would have possibly cucked my maxilla as well.

But by the time I was a freshman in high school however, I noticed that while my maxilla was still relatively intact, my lower third still looked pathetic. But why? With my habit-corrector, I had been mewing for over 4 years!

Me after 8th grade ended. Notice the short, recessed lower third, eye asymmetry, and the very pouty lip posture. Disregard that sorry excuse of a haircut on the left.

My side profile. Enough said.

It was only in my junior year of high school that I began paying attention to my chewing, and I began frequently chewing on gum and meat on the bone. Hell, I even ditched my habit-corrector to train my tongue without external assistance. Fast forward to senior year of high school:

Side profile. Notice how the chin is neutrally aligned instead of sloping backwards like it was before.

Now before you guys say that it's entirely genetics or entirely puberty, keep in mind two things: one, I was 5'8 during 8th grade, and I've barely grown since then (5'9 now); and two, I began chewing relatively late in my puberty at 16 years old. This only comes to show the effectiveness of chewing despite having done so so late. Imagine if I began chewing at 12.

This isn't to deny that my genetics and the natural effects of puberty didn't affect my bone development, to do so would be folly. But chewing is absolutely essential to maximizing the potential that you have, or even regain the potential you've lost.

Youngcels, start chewing. Remember to chew with even force/forces that will optimize your development (e.g., chewing on one side over the other) and make sure not to develop TMJ and bruxism; I made that mistake and am now trying to rebalance my chewing forces. But done right, it's a damn powerful thing.

Have you tried chewing alone already? If not then scaffold your steps to see which on is truly effective

The increase in jaw width looks legit but I doubt it had any affect on your chin, the first picture is just taken at an angle which makes your recession look worse than it is, compared to the after picture where your positioning is properly aligned, good progress though still

Yeah the angles weren't consistent, but it's still somewhat evident that my chin made my face more convex when I was younger. Reading and implementing the lip seal thread on here had an effect, I think.

Maybe it's just all in my head.

For me, a given chewing session usually lasts from 2-4 hours, or until the gum I chew literally dissolves in my mouth. I do tongue-chew, but not too much relative to regular chewing.

I can see that. In all fairness, however, I have a lot of buccal fat (partially due to genetics), so I wonder if losing it would have any effect.

was actually just about to write how i think buccal fat removal would be a good looksmax for you
wide jaw + hollow cheeks = infinitely better than wide jaw + asian fat pads
something to consider

But done right, it's a damn powerful thing.
aprecuate the thread, i’ll bookmark it. What do you think will happen when i’ll chew mastic gum while on steroid? (This is not a joke, I’ll. Actually be doing it)

Does this shit work for 24 year olds? I want to become a mogger like you.
I'd figure that the results will be less effective, but it wouldn't hurt to try. I bet you still have some skull development left.

does anyone in your family on your mom/dad's side have a big jaw ?
if no , then we can rule out genetics
Both of my parents, especially my dad, have really good jaw genetics. So in my case, chewing allowed me to reverse the harm done to my face from mouthbreathing and revert closer to my genetic potential.

I'm not really sure ngl, I'm focusing on softmaxxing atm and haven't really researched on PEDs. However, I can predict that your masseter, temporalis, malaris muscle(?), etc. growth will accelerate by chewing if you're on roids.

Have you experienced temporalis growth? I would like to limit this to a maximua. Or temporalis swelling during training session?

u should get subtle nose bridge fillers, that + 1 inch lift inserts + buccal fat removal and stopping chewing (i think your masseters might be overdeveloped atp) would turn you into an alpha kpop mogger no cap frfr

I believe I have, but I cover it with fringe and/or curtains so it isn't a huge issue for me. Chewing with molars is gonna activate your temporalis more than premolar and incisor chewing from my experience.

Only potential downside aside from tmj is looking bloated temporarely , bad gonions (inward) and developing the temporalis muscle making your forehead/upper skull wider . But depends on everyones proportions

Did puberty do that? If you changed like that front view picture without puberty I would think you have maxilla and chin implants.

Yeah, it's the effects of puberty, chewing, genetics, and (possibly) nutrition. I've never had any surgeries or implants.

If it's the stick type, then just 1. However, the type of gum I tend to get comes in piece form. In that case, I usually chew 2 pieces, sometimes even 3. I do incisor chew, but not often. I tend to focus on my premolars and evening out the forces on my masseters.

Non-NT hobbies/interests, making me unrelatable IRL for most people in general. Not mention that I'm 5'9, studycel because of IB, and live in a vastly majority-white area.
