I wouldn't say kids is the purpose of sex at all. But what i will say is that its paradoxal. That's because, sex is one of, if not the greatest form of connection two bodies can have. Yet kids have always been a consequence of sex. The reason a man would have sex with a women naturally would be for pleasure and connection. I think the natural progression would be asexuality. Though, i wont say this is where you should be at w. Let me explain. Remember, sex is essentially connection and pleasure. The childbirth stuff is ultimately the consequences after sex. But look, i personally don't think you will really find any authentic and genuine connection, loyalty, and companionship with a modern women in todays society due to various circumstances of our society im sure you also understand. So really the remaining values of sex would only be worth it for pleasure, and even thats barely worth the squeeze and overpriced. Especially with stds and diseases (Of course another consequence to sex without companionship).

So the choices are laid out for you. Masturbation is the same. Its definitely a perversion of sexual drive. I think you pretty much answered your own question. Its not a fruitless affair. Let me give you some personal experiences going nofap.

I for one practiced no fap for a long time. And i can agree, it definitely has very profound affects when it comes to productivity. The only thing is that, its hard to tell if it was the actual act of deciding to go nofap (practicing dedication daily), or if it was a biological component. But eventually i failed. Negative effects did arise such as a constant sexual desire, wet dreams and such. And i think this is because masturbating itself is a deviancy that normally should not prolifically exist, and has not existed until very recent modern times.

The practice of abstaining is especially powerful if your in a healthy relationship with a partner, and i think this is where the true benefits are realized. For example, even the smart guys who practiced asexuality like newton, da vinci and such still had relationships with their loved one. Just that many were vocal in abstaining to give complete focus on their careers. If your in a relationship with a girl you like and can have sex with, there's zero option you masterbate when you choose to abstain. And back then relationships were not this hard, women and media weren't this actively feministic and such things that create this reality of sexual injustice today.

What people call abstaining in todays time is not this. The case with nofap is not a man choosing to not eat food. Its usually a case of a man not having enough food from the start and needing to not eat food out of necessity. Two different things which lead to two different residual effects.
