In this paper, Alfaro says that skeletal unstability can be minimized with custom plates and dental unstability can be countered with a lengthy post operative orthodontic treatment.
And says that downward movements in the posterior segment should be avoided.

Also does appliances deffinietly increase the number of the teeths you show when smiling?

mse pros : ascends you on a skeletal level too
mse cons : asymmetry? nose gets wider

sarpe pros : nose is not affected
sarpe cons : can make you look bloated according to realsurgerymax, no skeletal ascension

segmental lefort 1 pros : ???
segmental lefort cons : can make you look bloated, it can relapse, no skeletal ascension

what do you think? @RealSurgerymax

what do you mean by "assymetry?", its very well known mse cause assimetry. Mse also cause nose to get wider. You also need to have a plan to the mandible. You need to use braces after. You will have hard time speaking after.

i have read reports by patients on reddit who didnt get asymmetry.

sarpe + segmental lf1 or cope

very hard to happen, it a lot of variables to take into account in the forces one should put and orthodontists are low iq

Unless your palate really needs expansion, it’s better to avoid that shit. You can improve tooth show when smiling with Invisalign

@Tallooksmaxxer why JFL nigga, unless you have a subhuman palate it’s complete cope for aesthetics

no i need it for aesthetic purposes. i am recessed, and after bimax i want to suck the air like a fucking penis pump, this is for health purposes.

i have 6 teeth smile, therefore it is subhuman.

How is that even possible? Brutal, you should avoid MSE, it’s not strong enough to expand on both sides equally, you risk hard to fix asymmetry

SARPE and Segmented LF1 make nose wider too.

The real cons to MSE are
- Failure rate
- Asymmetry
- Consolidation period required before carrying out jaw surgery

but doctors can perform an alar cinch along the bimax to counter it?
- Failure rate
I am 18 rn but i guess i can afford in couple of years.
i guess 20-21 isnt that bad for getting MSE?
- Asymmetry
Yeah my biggest fear.
- Consolidation period required before carrying out jaw surgery
if you are talking about 1-2 years, its not that a problem for me.
if longer than that, it is a problem.

Alar chinch doesn’t completely undo the nasal base widening. It can’t be done with SARPE unless it’s done preemptively which might not turn out well.

21 you should get surgical assist.

6 months is the minimum between MSE and Bimax

When is it worth it to get a segmental lf1?
