Because an equal system is not achievable. There is no and there will never be any system or even a single circumstance where two people would be seen as equal and therefore would be treated as equal.

In the end its all darwinism, whether its economically, physically, in terms of power over people, and so on... . No light without darkness - there are always winners and losers no matter the "system". Any kind of hierarchy will always exist, and society will always group around this hierarchy.

Competing is not only "an ideological" project, but a normal behavior. You see in a pack of wolves where the wolves are competing for a woman, same as Adidas is competing against Nike in the market. Capitalism is at least the most efficient system, otherwise we wouldn't have accumulated that amount of wealth, even though the biggest 0,1% get the most of it. The western standards of living wouldn't be anywhere near that high if the commies would have won.

Also, "hard work" will never be a significant factor for individual wealth.

In the end even the top of the hierarchy HAS to play by the same rules as we are, just on a way lower difficulty level - but they have to play the same game as we are. The only reason they are on the top is that the parameter we have chosen, money, has a meaning for us. If we collectively decided that money has no value, there is no trade anymore and we are all our sole provider, the hierarchy would switch again and there would be others at the top. Nothing lasts forever.
