And it was fought by Protestant Christian revolutionaries called the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom which was a theocratic monarchic group that wanted to overthrow the Qing dynasty and replace all religions in China with Christianity.

UNFORTUNATELY, it failed and 20-30 million people died as a consequence but it was worth a shot nonetheless. Chinese people prefer to remain Godless and are uninterested in salvation and eternal life
