It's a common misconception that the true mirror displays the "true" us. I've heard it countless times, people saying "MuH nOrMaL mIrRoR fLiPs YoUr FaCE wHiCh MeAnS iT iSnT yOu".
We have been looking through a normal mirror our whole lives, so our faces will be negatively distorted when looking in the true mirror. This is just facts, as mild assymetries will be amplified, and even if you were perfectly symmetric, you would still feel a weird sense of unfamiliarity, thus making you less attractive than you really are. However, the normal mirror isn't the real us either, as we often see ourselves as better looking, but it's definitely closer leaning than the true mirror.
