Natural selection will always exist in the form of hypergamy but the issue is these days humans are not having enough kids to sustain the population.

Back a century ago or more those people would be having 10+ children to sustain society's positive birth rate, but these days they simply engage in intercourse without the getting pregnant part. It's a major issue. Hence the birth rate in Europe is in the negative and the need for immigrants is currently imperative.
